Bling and birthstones....

Busy busy again, where do the days go? Gosh, I suppose we are on the down hill run to Christmas.
My card below is for two challenges this week - Magnolia Down Under Challenges has "Birthstones" this week and Wild Orchid Challenges has "Bling it Up!".

My birthstone is Pearl and light amethyst so I've gone with lots of lovely lavender on my papers and pearls to embellish.

All of the lovely embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts

The cute Tilda is a newbie from the A Christmas Story collection and the tree is from 2008 (I think!).

I hope you get a chance to join us this week at both challenges! They work well together.
Until later, Hugs xx

MDUC - Falalala

Good morning! It is MDUC time again :) This time we are "Inspired by a Song".
It is probably pretty easy to guess what song I've chosen.

I've been painting again hehe. I'm going to keep trying until I get it right.
These are two stamps from the latest Magnolia Club set. They are from A Christmas Story, the newest collection, Tilda with Lovikka Mittens and Snowy Roof.

All of the gorgeous flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'm going to enter a challenge as well this week, Tilda's Town - Merry Christmas

I hope you get a change to play along at MDUC. The girls have done an amazing job.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Until later, fa la la la!!

Ski Edwin with Snowflakes

Hi friends,
Gosh, where to begin! Things here have been a little tense lately. Last night I just needed to sit and paint... so that is exactly what I did. Luckily for me my new stamps and papers had just arrived from The Crafty Witch so I was able to get inky with this adorable new Edwin and church background.

As soon as I saw little Edwin on his bot-bot with his skis, I had to have him. I am the world's worst skier, lol, so I had to sympathise, haha. The Swedish Church background was also a must have.

I used my DIs to colour the scene and stamped around the edges with the Magnolia Snowflake stamp.
The papers are Magnolia as well, Scandinavian Map from the Supper Memories collection. Some Doo Hickey die cuts and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and job done.

I'm slowly getting used to the DIs and painting. Its just practice. The right paper is definitely a must though. We dont really have much of a choice of papers here in Aus, but I am lucky enough to have a Swedish "supplier" of some lovely water colour stock - thanks Louise! It is amazing.

Well, thats it from me today. I will be back on Sunday with more, but maybe I can try and sneak in another card between now and then... we'll see! I hope so.
Until later, Hugs x

WOC - Gold and Silver

Ohhh - how I adore these two stamps!! Edwin is ALWAYS adorable in his little Santa suit :) And little Jasper the cat is super sweet too.

It is time for a new challenge at Wild Orchid Crafts Challenges
This fortnight we want to see SILVER and /or GOLD on your project.

I finally splurged and bought a couple of Go Kreate dies and made a little shaped easel card with one for this fortnight's challenge.  I love the fun shape.

I have a heap of WOC products on my card... gosh, I just couldn't stop myself!
Twine, Bells, Pearl string, Wood embellishments, Crown Pin, Cosmos Daisy, German Glitter Glass, Small Gardenia, Small Poinsettie, Pearl Brad, Lace, Aster Daisy,

Been testing my water colour painting again :) This one was super fun to do.

And some Magnolia paper and Doo Hickey dies and the card is complete!

I  hope you get a chance to play along with our Silver and/or Gold challenge this fortnight. Be sure to check out the girls work, they've all created stunning projects.

Until later,
Hugs K xx

Shake it baby!

Good morning! It is shaker card week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges
Oh my word, the girls have done an amazing job this week, all of the cards are just WOW - we have a special guest too, Katie K, and you just have to go and check out her card. Amazing!!

I painted Tilda with her little lamb from the A Little Christmas collection for my shaker card. She is so cute :) Probably one of my favourites this year so far.

All of the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts. The cute little wooden birdie is also WOC.
I finally used the lamp doo hickey die. I adore this die and never seem to get it out to play.

Well, that is it from me today. I hope you get a chance to come and play at MDUC this week, we'd love to see your shaker cards!
I'll be back tomorrow with something else to share.
Until then, have a great weekend,
xXx

TOMIC - Halloween, colour combo and bats

Hey there everyone....
there is a new challenge over at TOMIC this week - and we have some extra special news to share...
head on over to TOMIC to check it out...
the challenge this month is:
Halloween + bats + colour combo = black, purple and orange.

Not being a big Halloween fan, we dont really celebrate it here in Aus, I used this cute little Tilda with her broom and went to town with some DIs to colour her.

The card is cut with Spellbinders and decorated with Doo Hickey dies and my bats are cut from Magnolia ink papers. The flowers and lace are all Wild Orchid Crafts.

The sentiment is from my friend Claudia.

All of the edges are inked with Tea Stain DI.

I had a lot of fun painting this little darling up. I hope you get a chance to visit TOMIC and see what the sad news is.
I would like to thank Kianel and the co-ordinators at TOMIC for a fabulous 18 months.
It has been a ball.

This is not the end.

Take car my Maggie friends,
have a fantastic week
(A big shout out to Janne!! take care Hunny!!)
See you all on the weekend,

MDUC - Your favourite colour combo

Hey there crafty friends.
I hope your weekend is going swimmingly.
There is a new challenge over at MDUC today.... your favourite colour combo - use 3-4 of your fav colours. Blue and kraft are usually two of my favourite colours. And I adore red as well, so it made lots of sense to put them all together for this challenge.

The cutie stamp is Magnolia from the Little Christmas collection and I sat down and painted him up with DIs.
The flowers, lace and ribbon are all Wild Orchid Crafts

I hope you have a chance to share your favourite color combo with us this week. We'd love to see what you come up with. Til then, have a great week!

WOC - Anythng Goes

Hmm... so I attempted water colouring again.... I go through stages you see. When I just want to sit and paint.  It seems that it will be relaxing... but I usually end up painting three images before I am happy enough with one. This is the first of about 4 water coloured images that have made it to cards... we'll see how we go!

There is a new challenge up at Wild Orchid Challenges this week - this time we are looking for Anything Goes.

The papers are Authentique and this is adorable Flip Flop Tilda from the Summer Memories collection.

So this is my attempt at painting... yes, I know I have a lot of practice ahead of me, haha, but it is really enjoyable and makes a nice change from markers.

Have a great week,
Hugs x
