"Bindi" Tilda

Well, when I saw this CUTE little Australian Tilda, being a good Aussie, I just HAD to have her. And then she arrived in my mail box (thank you Tickled Pink Stamps!!). She was inked up immediately and I set about colouring her ....**BING**... light bulb moment - she is dressed like Bindi Irwin! So I began wondering if she was maybe the inspiration for Pauline when she was designing her? What do you think?

Anyway... This is my DT card for this week's Magnolia Down Under Challenges #61. This week we have a recipe for your - 3 papers, 2 buttons and 1 ribbon. I have used the Kaisercraft 6x6 stack from Up Up and Away for my 3 DP - the postcard piece is cut from one of the sheets in the stack. Tricky hey? My two buttons are actually some that my Mum saved for me - from my Dad's old work shirts. Nothing goes to waste! They worked out perfectly. All of my edges are inked with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and the postcard piece is also distressed with my Tim Holtz edge distresser. And I have used my Magnolia Doo Hickey "Tildas Lace" (available also from Tickled Pink Stamps) for the edge of the layers.

So... some challenges are:
Papertake Weekly - a recipe - 3, 2, 1 (3 papers, 2 buttons, 1 ribbon for me!)
Stampin for the Weekend - Anything Goes
Totally Tilda - Stitching

Thanks for hanging around for a very chatty post from me!
Have a great Sunday
xx

Mad for Markers with Hanglar Stanglar

Good morning and welcome to my Mad for Markers DT post for the week. This month we have a colouring PINK challenge for you so I've coloured these cute hAnglar stAnglar images to show you. I was so lucky to purchase one of the last sets when these stamps were for sale on ebay... I've wanted a set of hAnglars to call my own for a long time. They arrived in my mail box over a month ago and I have only just coloured them up for the first time - terrible. But they work perfectly with a pink colour scheme so I finally had my chance.

Seeing as though I had to colour pink, I thought I would team the pink with grey so I could play over at the Lovely Hanglar challenge #06.

Can you see the gorgeous pewter and pink pearls? Aren't they a fantastic colour? They are Flourish with a Bling and available at Tickled Pink Stamps. The papers are the gorgeous Basic Grey "Olivia".

I've used Copics colours:
R 000, 00, 20, 22
E 000, 00, 11, 13, 25, 29, 30, 49
C 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #60

**Edited to add - I came in the Top 5 at the ATS Magnolia Challenge with this card!! Thanks so much girls!!**

Good morning!! It is Magnolia Down Under Challenges time again - Yay!!! We have a colour challenge for you this week... and what a colour challenge it is!! When I first saw the challenge I though... Oh my goodness - what on Earth am I going to do? They don't call them challenges for nothing I spose! But then not long after that I was out at my local craft store and found this amazing paper....

So I guess now would be a good time to tell you that the colour challenge is - orange, green, pink, brown and blue! Sounds nice and bright, ready for spring, doesn't it?

I decided that I loved the paper so much that I would try and make the card a little simpler than usual and let the cute little Fall Tilda and gorgeous paper do the job for me:

Of course, I had to use my Tilda Lace Doo Hickey (available at Tickled Pink Stamps) on the edge of the card - and yes - it DID cut through both layers quite easily, and some beautiful white cotton lace. The fantastic paper is American Crafts "Blue Skies" collection Good Vibration. I love it. Expect to see more cards using this fun paper in the next few weeks.

So you have until Saturday midday AEST to enter the challenge.... and don't forget to see what our creative and talented DT made to show you - wow!

And I am going to try my luck over at:

Stamptacular Sunday challenges - Buttons and bows,
Pollycraft Challenge - In Stitches
Crafty Creations #81 - Butterflies
Cute Stamps and Cards - Scallops
Stamping for the Weekend - Anything goes
Totally Tilda - #3 Stitching

Cute Mikey

Hi everyone, Yay!! It is finally Friday. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend planned.

I was lucky enough to be able to play with this little cutie called Mikey from The Stamping Bazaar....

I coloured him with Copics - E 13, 17, 19 (fur), BG 10, 0000 (cloud), W 0, 1, 3 (face and tail tip), B 00, 000, 000 (wings).

I've used the new Basic Grey "Oliver" DP - I love these new colelctions from Basic Grey. The image has been made 3D by colouring three images and cutting them out and mounting them on silicone.

These cute little critters that Marina creates are so wonderful to colour. The expressions on their faces are full of character. They just make me smile.

So I will be entering him in the following challenges:

Friday Sketchers # 116
Stamptacular Sunday - Buttons and Bows
Charisma Cardz - Die Cuts

This week we have a sweet smelling challenge for you - A Rose is a Rose. I just LOVE roses. Despite the bright colours (its really grey and cold here so I may have edited my photos a little too much with the old brightness/contrast button...) I've gone a little bit vintage with Evie here. She is such a lovely las.

The too cute for words rose charm is from Tickled Pink Stamps, along with the lovely Evie. The papers are my favourite collection from Kaisercraft "Devonshire", I just love the warm autumny tones.

We'd love to see you play along with us this week, it is a nice challenge to play along with so why not get out your Lil Lolitas and get colouring?

I'm entering Miss Evie into the following challenges:

Crafts and Me - Petals and Pearls

Sew Many Challenges - Sewing

The Stampin Bazaar's Little Angel for M4M

Welcome to my Mad for Markers post for this week. Today I have used this cute little image from The Stamping Bazaar... only I've used the same image twice - being a digital image, I was able to flip the image so that there were two - twins! I've had this idea in my head for a little while now but have only just put it to paper.

The papers are Basic Grey "Olivia" 6" stack and SU! cardstock. The sentiment was cut using my Cuttlebug dies "Baby face" and the scallop is Magnolia Doo Hickey (from Tickled Pink Stamps).

I have coloured the images with Copic colours:
G - 40, 00, 0000R 20, 00, 000Y 11, 000, 23BG 10, 0000YR 20E 21, 00, 000, 31, 34W 3

Creatalicious Challenges August Challenge

Good morning! There is a new challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges - create something Vintage!

I have made a circle easel card, inspired by my beautiful friend Jodie. If you haven't been to Jodie's blog, you are missing out, she is a true artist. I just love her shaped cards. This is the first time I have given it a go myself and I was really please how it turned out... mind you, it required a bit more thinking for me than usual!

I have used Magnolia images Oops Tilda and Kitchen from the Yummy in your Tummy collection. This is the first time I have inked up Oops Tilda, the poor little thing has been sitting in my stamp collection all unloved. The swirls and tag are both Magnolia Doo Hickey dies. I just love them!

There is some crystal effects on the "glass" in the kitchen and on the jars. The images are coloured with Copics.
The Vintage challenge at Creatalicious runs for a month so you have until the 14th to enter.

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #59

Good morning everyone! I love Edwin, he is so cute. But he is also under used in my opinion too :) So this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges we are looking for creations using both Edwin and Tilda - sounds like fun doesn't it!

I have used Edwin and Tilda on bicycles from the Lazy Summer Days 2009 collection and a couple of little birds... and I'm sorry, but I can't remember which collection these little cuties came from...

The papers are Basic Grey Wisteria and the sketch is from this weeks Just Magnolia challenge.
Enjoy the rest of your day! I'll be back with another little something to show you later today.

Tickled Pink Stamps sponsoring Anya Ink

Hi everyone! Finally Friday!! Did this week drag or what? Or maybe it was just me and the rain we had, lol.

There is a new challenge up at Anya Ink today and Tickled Pink Stamps are sponsoring the prize for this challenge so we Pink Ladies were asked if we wanted to make a little something to play along with the Anya Ink DT. Of course, being new to TGF stamps, I jumped to participate!

The challenge at Anya Ink is a recipe - 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 ribbon. I pulled out my Sweet Message set (available at Tickled Pink Stamps) and some pretty Prima papers out of my drawer and got to work. Every time I colour this cute little image I am surprised at how nice she is to colour and the finished result of the card. I think you could stick this image on a cereal box and it would look great!

The sketch started out being the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week, and it still does resemble it ... I've just used the lace instead of the rectangle panel... I hope it still counts :) I just love this gorgeous cotton lace. Cupcake Craft Challenges are looking for lace this week too, so I'll enter over there as well.

So that is it from me today. I'll be back in the coming days with something else to share, in the meantime, get our your TGF or CC Design stamps and enter at Anya Ink!

Enjoy your weekend :)

Tilda hits the Boutiques

Good morning! Happy Mad for Markers day to you all.

It is so very cold here at the moment. I am very much looking forward to spring. I can see the green tips of my jonquils poking out of the ground now, so a few more weeks and we should have some nice spring feeling in the garden.

At least with the cold and wet weather there are plenty of reasons to stay inside and keep warm... and sit at my craft desk and colour!

I got out my new Magnolia stamps to play with for my card today. I have coloured the images with Copics and added some crystal effects to the window and Tilda's bags and shoes.

I have used Copic colours:

Tilda -
Hair: E 30, 31, 34, Y 28, Y26
Skin: E 000, 00, 11, 13, 93 (cheeks)
Clothes: E 000, 41, 43, 44, B 91, 93, 95, 97, 99
Shoes/Bags: R 39, 37, 35, 32, C 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

Window -
Glass: BG 10, 0000
Signwriting/display: Y 28, 26, 23, 000, C 1, 3
Window frame: C 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
Bricks: E 30, 31, 34, W3

And I have also decorated the inside of the card...

I am going to enter this card into Cute Card Thursday's "Whateva" challenge, Cupcake Craft Challenges 103 - Lace and Dutch Dare Challenges - Anything Goes

Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenge #4

**Edited to add - I WON the monthly prize at Just Magnolia for this card ~ Thanks Ladies!!**
**This is my second post of today. If you are looking for my Magnolia Down Under Challenges post, please scroll down**

Hi everyone! It is time for a Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenge! This month our Boss Lady Kellie has created another fantastic sketch for us. I have built the sketch into my card - it might be a little hard to find, but it is there.....

To enter the Tickled Pink Stamps Monthly Challenge you can use any stamp, but to be eligable for the prize (which I will get to in a minute), you must use a stamp from one of the companies that is sold from Tickled Pink Stamps - so there is a huge choice from Magnolia, CC Designs, Baby buds, TGF, Kraftin Kimmie, Pink Cat Studio, Sweet November.... and of course, Lil Lolitas. Tickled Pink Stamps also ship stamps overseas so if you are after some new stamps from these companies, go check out what is in stock, there is sure to be something that pleases your eye.

I have used the new Mermaid Tilda from the Magnolia Bon Voyage collection and coloured her with Copic markers and Spica at You glitter pens.

There is a bit of acetate in the centre of the card which (although not really visible in the photo) has been embossed through the cuttlebug with the Swirls folder. Tilda's tail is coated in Diamond Stickles as well.

All of my edges are distressed and had some silver Stickles added. The embellishments are raffia, real sea shells and polished pearls, some Kaisercraft rhinestone swirls, cream cherry blossoms and some silver sea themed charms.

The paper is also from Tickled Pink Stamps from the Magnolia "Fairytale" collection.

Now -the prize?? Well, Kellie is being VERY generous this month and there is a $50 store gift voucher up for grabs. How nice is that?? Just think of all the goodies you can buy with a $50 voucher?

So don't forget to pop over to see what the rest of the talented DT has created for you - there is some amazing girls on our team!

DON'T FORGET THAT TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE YOUR EXCULSIVE AND ONE TIME ONLY DIGITAL LIL LOLITA STAMPS!!! There is only 7 hours left to go so please **CLICK HERE** to head to the Tickled Pink Stamps store to get yours.

I am also going to enter my card into the Just Magnolia Special Monthly Challenge - use Acetate on your card.

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #58

Good morning!! Yay!! It is Magnolia Down Under Challenges day!! This week we are looking for.... Easel cards! My goodness - you should really go and see what the DT have put together. WOW. Those girls really know how to make gorgeous cards. I've made a more... traditonal (if there is such a thing?) easel card using my new Magnolia Summer Club Bon Voyage stamps.

There are four stamps from the Club used here - Dangling Edwin, Porthole, Pelican and The Tide Always Turns sentitment. I had a great time playing with these. It was a great lot of stamps this time (and apprently the Fall Club includes some Christmas stamps so if you haven't ordered your stamp club yet......why not?).

My images are all coloured with Copics and the papers are Kaisercraft. I've added some little silver eyelets around the porthole and some pearl flourishs (Flourish with a Bling).

The waves have some diamond stickles added to them and the sea has some Spica at You clear pen as well. The porthole is actually set in behind the front layer and I made my own little rope out of crochet cotton.

So you have until midday Saturday 14th August AEST to enter the challenge. It is a great opportunity to get out all of those new uninked stamps or even your older, neglected ones to play along with us. We'd love to see what you create!

07 August 2010

Wanna WIN some digi Lil Lolita's? - of course you do!

You should know by now that this weekend is the big LIL LOLITA DIGI EXTRAVAGANZA and that for a very short period (AEST Thursday 5 Aug until Sunday 8 Aug midnight) Tickled Pink Stamps are selling the Lil Lolita girls as digital images... and that is it - never again.

Well, just to ADD to the excitement, Stephanne and Kellie are GIVING three away! Aren't they a generous couple of girls?

Soooo... all you have to do is... head over to Tickled Pink Stamps, choose three of your favourite Lil Lolitas (there are eleven, so this is the hard bit) and then head to Stephanne's blog and leave a comment letting her know which three you've chosen and add your sweet self to Mr Linky on her blog.

And then, if you can't tell which three really were your favourite, head back to Tickled Pink Stamps and buy the other eight. Why not? You really wanted them all didnt you?
Something a little different from me today. I went to the Craft Fair on Thursday and found a stand with a big box of House Mouse stamps. I have stayed away from them until now for a few reasons, the most obvious being the complexity of the image and being overwhelmed, not knowing where to start colouring! However on Thursday I found myself going through these gorgeous stamps admiring the fine detail and struggling to choose just one! But I did come home with just one stamp and this was it:

I sat for two hours Thursday night and another hour on Friday colouring this gorgeous image and loved every moment. The only tricky bit was trying to get the little bird in the middle to stand out against the bird seed.

It is a little difficult to tell from the photo but the background is also coloured using B0000. For some reason I just couldnt get it to show in the photo

Copic colours:
Mouse: E70, 71, 77, 93, 04
Birds: B 91, 93, 95, W 0, 1, 3, E000, 41, 43, 44
Flowers: R81, 83, 85, RV 000
Leaves: YG 63, 67, 91
Branches: E30, 31, 53, 55, 57
Bird feeder: C 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, B60 (glass)
Seed: E13, 34, 53, 30

I was really pleased with how the image turned out and know that there will be more House Mouse stamps appearing in my stamp collection when I find them. Copic Oz have their first challenge running at the moment, to colour Flowers and I've been meaning to enter and I think my House Mouse card fits the bill.

The card istelf is a little bit simple in its layout because the image is so large. I've distressed all of the edges and stitched on some pretty white bobbin lace to give it a bit of a shabby chic feel. The House Mouse & Friends Challenge #75 is Vintage.

Thanks for staying with me for such a long post. Enjoy your weekend, everyone. I will back tomorrow with some more to share with you.

Come Fly with Me

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday to you all.

I pulled out my brand new, never been inked before Magnolia stamps to make a card to show on the Mad for Markers blog which was up yesterday, but seeing as though I had a Lil Lolita's post going up as scheduled, I thought I'd hold this one over til today to make everyone got their fair share of blog time :)

This is the new Pilot Edwin and Plane from the Bon Voyage collection. Aren't they cute? My boys love planes and so I had to buy these two.

I used Mercy's Tuesday sketch #85 as I keep looking at all of the gorgeous work on her blog but never seem to get there to enter!

I used Copic colours:

Skin: E 000, 00, 11, 13, 93 (cheeks)
Hair: E 30, 25, 34
Suit: B 97, 95, 93, 91, Y 28, 26, 23, 000 (golds)
Shirt: W0, 1
Shoes/ bag: E 30, 31, 34, 37
Plane: C 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, R 17, 14
Gold and clear spica

I also thought that my card fit in really well with the current challenge at Simon Says Stamp challenge - Sing it Baby - I've had "Come Fly with Me" in my head the entire time I was colouring!

Happy Birthday to Waffles aka Boss Lady aka Kellita!!

Hello, happy Thursday to you all and welcome to my little part of the:

BIG BIRTHDAY BLOG HOP
FOR
Kellie - Happy Birthday to you Hun!! Have a wonderful day, I hope you get the biggest and bestest pressies and the most awesome cake ever. Enjoy a day of cuddles with your gorgeous daughters and hubby and just relax.
For those of you who don't know Kellie (umm.. where have you been? lol) she is the owner of Tickled Pink Stamps, the founder of many a challenge blog, friend to all and affectionately known as Waffles :) She was my first follower when I started out entering challenges and since then I have followed her around entering her challenges and more recently being fortunate enough to be a part of her DTs.
Amazing people usually have amazing friends as well... and Kellie is no exception here either. If you started this blog hop prior to visiting me, you will already know that Debbie and Kristy organised for a new Lil Lolita stamp (Kellie's own line of stamps!) to be created, a Kell-ita, a very special stamp that is Kellie, then gave it to all of us to make her a birthday card. And to top that off, they organised this secret special birthday blog hop to end all blog hops just for her.
Kellie - do you feel extra special yet? Good.
So.. without further ado (seems it is my turn to waffle) here is my Kellita birthday card:

How cool is that? Your own personal stamp? Of course we all had to colour her with red hair, it would be Kellita without red hair :)

My card is an easel card with a built in pressie drawer.

I've used a few bits and pieces from Kellie's store Tickled Pink Stamps (yes, they do ship stamps internationally too), the pink tassel, cream lace, pearl Flourish with a Bling.

The heart locket is an actual locket too! It opens! And what is inside the locket?

And next on this blop hop is the incredibly talented Stephanne who I am sure has a gorgeous Kellita to show you and no doubt some very funny words as well.

Sooo... that is all from me, Kellie have a wonderful day full of loads of surprises, I hope this surprise has made your day, but I hope that there are heaps more to come!!

04 August 2010

Oliver's favourite thing

Ohhhhh - another boy card from me! I tend to struggle a bit with boy cards as I can't really go and stick a bunch of pretty flowers or some apply a generous amount of stickles... well, I guess I could...

Anyway, it is my Mad for Markers day and I've chosen to share with you my card using this gorgeous little boy called Oliver from The Greeting Farm set "My Favourite Things". Isn't he adorable? (If you like him, he is available at Tickled Pink Stamps) I've used the sketch from Friday Sketchers from lovely Tanja.

Little Oliver is coloured with Copics:

Skin: E 11, 00, 000, 93 (cheeks)
Hair: E30, 31, 34, 55 (gold spica for just a bit of sparkle, I couldn't help myself)
Clothes/shoes: E 31, 34, 37, B 21, 23, 36, YG 91, 95
Fishbowl: B 0000, 000, 00
Fish: YR 01, 04

I struggled to embellish this little guy, but ended up using some blue string, green eyelets to thread the string through, some cute ribbon with zig zags on it around some mesh ribbon, a little silver fish charm and some cardstock brackets that I cut using the Nestabilities Labels 1 and doodled using a white gel pen. There is also some Crystal Effects on the fish bowl to make it look like glass.
So! Some challenges for him to go and play in are:

03 August 2010

Catch of the day!

**Edited to add - My Catch of the Day card came in the top 3 at Paper Sundaes! Thanks Girls! I'm thrilled. **

Here is my latest card featuring the newest and very cute Catch of the Day image from The Stamping Bazaar. What a cute little otter.

I managed to sit last night and colour him up. Doing the fur takes a little longer with all of the layers, but it is so worth it in the end to give the little fella some depth.

I've used my Magnolia Doo Hickeys again. I just love them. And have distressed all of the edges. The papers are Kaisercraft.

Its a bit hard to see in the photo, but I've sponged some little clouds in behind our little friend here.

This little guy is going off to play in some challenges too:
Cards for Men - Off on an Adventure

Well, I'd best be off to go and get my little boys something to eat. We've been out playing with Grandma and Poppy this morning so have used up a lot of energy! Time to re-energise with some lunch.

01 August 2010

Want to get a Lil Lolita but too impatient for the postie?

Well, I would be too if I were you!

Magnolia Down Under Challenges - # 57

Gosh the weekends go fast. Sunday morning already. And time for our next Magnolia Down Under challenge! This week the challenge theme is - BIRTHDAYS!

I have used Tilda with Rose Bouquet for my birthday card. She is coloured with Copics and Spica pens. I don't usually use a lot of mauve, but I have these Basic Grey papers "Wisteria" which I love but haven't been able to use for some reason so I challenged myself to come up with something using them.

The swirls are Magnolia Doo Hickeys and the flowers are from I am Roses. And of course, I stitched around each panel with my sewing machine and added stickles whereever I could!

So, if you want to enter Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week, you have until Saturday midday to get your card ready.

I've been wanting to enter the Basic Grey Challenge #25 Stitching all week so now I finally have a card using some Basic Grey papers!

Well, enjoy the rest of your weekend and please stop by and check out what the DT at Magnolia Down Under have done to show you, and leave them some nice comments!
