Kraftin Kimmie - Mae!

How was everyone's weekend? I had a nice weekend with loads of time to sit and colour. One thing I created this weekend was this card with the gorgeous Mae from Kraftin Kimmie. She is one of the newly released images that are currently available at Tickled Pink Stamps. Isn't she a fun image? She comes with two accessory stamps, the little shell on the bottom right corner and also a spade for playing in the sand at the beach.

In the background I have used a really nice summer scene stamp from Magnolia. It is a little difficult to see in the photo, but I have used Crystal Effects on the water to make it glossy. The papers are from the new Kaisercraft 6x6 stack Le Chateau. There is gold spica pen on Mae's hair as well and a little flip flop hanging from the bow :)
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Friday Sketchers #104 A sketch by the lovely Tanja.

Yay! Time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge! This week we are challenging you to use Flowers! In my card I have used a few images to create a little scene with Tilda relaxing in her garden. There are flowers in the images, on the designer papers and also as embellishments.

I thought I may as well go ahead and decorate the inside with some more flowers as well while I was at it!

All of my images are Magnolia.
Images are coloured with Copic markers:
E - 21, 00, 000, 31, 34, 57

Last days of the Mad for Markers Feathered Blending challenge!!!

That's right! There is only two more days to get your entry into the Mad for Markers Feathered Blending challenge! There is a fantastic prize up for grabs too - a set of 12 Ciao markers and a pakc of Xpress IT blending card, if you have been following the DT of Mad for Markers you will know we are all fans of this fantastic card stock, I bought 125 sheets of it the other day I love it so much!

Anyway, back to my card. I have gone a little feathered blending crazy! Little Tilda has feathered blending on her dress and wings, the flowers have feathered blending on their petals and also in the centres, I even attempted to feather blend the stems. I was fairly happy with the result... let me tell you though, when I started colouring I wondered what on earth I was thinking!

I have used Copic sketch and Ciao markers for this card in colours:
B21, B60
Y 18, Y38
YG 23, 25
E00, 21
W 1, 3, 5 (Tilda's hair)
Spica - gold and clear

Ingredients:
Stamps: Magnolia - Daisy, Sentiment and Fairy Tilda (at Tickled Pink Stamps)
Papers: Magnolia - Lazy Summer Days paper pack (Tickled Pink Stamps), SU cardstock, Xpress IT blending card for colouring (Mad for Markers).
Other: Petaloo flowers, buttons, Kaisercraft rhinestone flourish

Enjoy your weekend!

Tickled Pink Stamps' gorgeous Lilith

So I just realised that the last time I coloured a Lil Lolita it was also Lilith - oops! Next time I'd better mix it up and use one of the other lovely images! I've been colouring these girls in all week, and then look at all of the gorgeous images and wonder what papers to use... you'd think with a room full of papers I would have had no trouble choosing something!

This week or DT challenge was to use ribbons! I managed to get three coordinating ribbons on my card with out even having a bow. This lovely lady along with her Lil Lolita sisters is available from Tickled Pink Stamps, along with a whole host of other popular stamps. The papers are Basic Grey Kioshi, available from Delicious Papercrafting.

Challenges for this card are:

Sketch Saturday - sketch!
Simon Says Challenge - Blue, green and brown

Magnolia-licious Christmas All year Round Blog Hop

Hi! And welcome to my card for Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long May blog hop. If you haven't seen this before, it happens every month on the 25th. This is the first time I am participating though, it sounded like a fun way to get some Christmas cards made throughout the year and not spending all of December making Christmas cards and nothing else!

I apoloise for my photo - I just took it and it is almost 8pm here in Australia so my lighting was terrible.

If you just happened to stumble across this and want to see the entire blog hop, go to Magnolia-licious Christmas All Year Long and start from the beginning. However if you arrived here from Tracey, then you are on the right track!

I have used Magnolia images "Snowie with flake" and "Tree background", both are available at Magnolia-licious. I decided to do a non-traditional colour scheme of mauve and mint and used papers from the Basic Grey "Kioshi" stack. I've also used a lot of glitter!

Your next stop on the blog hop is Nadyne.

Enjoy!

NEWS - Coloured Inklings

Coloured Inklings is a new blog that I have created to be dedicated to Copic marker specific posts and also to advertise classes that I will be running in the use of Copics.

I will be updating Coloured Inklings with:

  • Tutorials

  • Showcases of various things I've created with Copics

  • News relating to Certification

  • And courses I plan on running throughout the year
If you are in the Canberra area and are interested in attending any training, head over to Coloured Inklings to have a look and see what I have to offer.

I am also starting a Colouring Club. If you live in the Canberra region and want to use Copics but don't own any yet or simply want to colour in a social environment, I will be opening my studio one afternoon a month for a group colouring session. Sound like fun? I hope so!

And please, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me!

Sj's Friday Freebie!

Oh bugger! I thought I had scheduled this post to appear on Friday... eek!! I am so sorry Sj! I seem to be late a bit lately!

This gorgeous girl is Lottie. She is the Friday Freebie from Sj's Little Musings, don't you just love her? Well, I do. She was lovely to colour. And her little butterfly friend, so cute. I've done a little more doliy dressing with some lavender ink and have used gorgeous papers from Basic Grey "Kioshi" - I am loving this stack (I got it from Delicious Papercrafting if you want some).

Mad for Markers Feathered Blending

Ohhhh.... I am sorry! My intentions were to have this post scheduled for this morning but things got away from me :( My apologies - I promise it will not happen again!

Here is my creation for Mad for Markers this week. There is a challenge on at the moment to use the technique of Feathered Blending. The gorgeous Sammi has done a wonderful video tutorial so if you haven't feather blended before, everything you need to know is in one clever video. But we promise you - it is simple and the effect! WOW! Ever wanted to do that two tone thing so it blends into each other - then feathered blending is for you.

I have feathered the wings on this lovely Magnolia "Fairytale Tilda" with R81 and G 12. There is a close up pic below this main pic if you want to see the detail a little more clearly. I have also dressed up my doily again! I have another post to do for tonight and guess what is on that card too? Yup - dressy doily! Eeeek! Fran - you've created a craze!

I have used Copics:

E11, 00, 000, 31
R 20, 81, 83, 85
G 12, 14
YR 20
Y 21 35
Spica - clear

This gorgeous Magnolia stamp is from Tickled Pink Stamps and the pretty paper is Basic Grey Kioshi from Delicious Papercrafting.
See you later!

Lovely rosey Lilith

I have a the lovely Lilith heve to show you today. I decided poor Lilith needed to "lighten up" as the young lady always seems to appear with black or dark hair, so it was time for a change. Lilith is one of five lovely ladies from the exclusive Lil Lolita range of stamps from Ticked Pink Stamps. The entire DT is loving these gals!

If you want to have some Lil Lolitas in your stamp collection, THEY ARE NOW IN STOCK at Tickled Pink Stamps - yep - they've arrived!

Pop by and see the Tickled Pink Stamps Blog to see what everyone else has been up to. I have also "Dressed up my doily" as per the fab tutorial by the lovely Pink Lady Fran. I dont think I will ever be able to look at a white doily again without it looking naked! Thanks Fran.

Other Tickled Pink Stamp News.... Tickled Pink Stamps is spponsoring The Burtonesque Dolls Challenges once a month. If you want to join in a fun and fresh new challenge, then The Burtonesque Dolls Challenges is for you. The current challenge is black flowers and skullies....can you think of a perfect image for that challenge? Hmm.... scroll up!

I've used the sketch from Cute Card Thursday.

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #46 - Black, White or Cream + one other

Hello! It's time for another fantastic challenge over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges! This time we have a colour challenge for you - Black, White or Cream PLUS one other colour!

I have used two Magnolia Stamps on my card, Shopping Tilda and the Eiffel Tower, both are from 2008. I let the gorgeous yellow rose dictate the beautiful golden yellow to compliment the black and white DP. I have also used a lace border punch to add the frame to the Eiffel Tower.

Its a little hard to tell from the photo, but I have sponged some grey clouds in the background and then added the yellow sun rays across the skyline. I was lucky enough to go to Paris a few years ago - and it was such grey gloomy weather! So my card reminds me of the beautiful city, with the grey autumn sky with the sun trying to peak through.

I have used some gloss on Tilda's wings and handbag. And there is a little silver handbag charm in the corner.

And lets not forget the inside! There is a tiny silver shoe charm hanging from the yellow ribbon inside the card. Perhaps Tilda was shoe shopping?

I hope you like my card. I really enjoyed creating this one! Don't forget, you have until Saturday midday (AEST) to enter this great challenge.

Creatalicious Challenges #10 - Lets take a trip to the Orient!

Welcome to my post for this month's challenge for Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges! This month it was my turn to choose a theme and I came up with Lets take a trip to the Orient! So we want to see all of your creations Asian themed.

I've used two retired Stampi Up sets. The little people are stamped in Memento ink onto Blending card and coloured with Copics. The floral piece they sit on is faux silk, which I made by stamping the branches on tissue paper, colouring them and then crushing the tissue paper and gluing it to some card. I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Friday Freebie time!!! Get ready to SWING into the weekend!

Woo hoo ! It is Friday!

Double woo woo - it is time for another fabulous Friday Freebie from Sj at Little Musings! This week is my favourite Little Musing yet! Sj has created this gorgeous image called "Swinging life away" - and have a good look - she is headless! Doesn't this add a bit of a fantastic whimsical edge to the image?

And I'll be back again next Friday with Sj's next Little Musing for your viewing pleasure :)
Have a great weekend!

Mad for Markers with Magnolia

Hello and welcome to my post today for Mad for Markers!

I put together this little card using Magnolia stamps for you to see this week. The entire image is coloured with Copics. I've been seeing some work around where images have been coloured with Copics and the background coloured with watercolours, so I thought, why not do the entire thing in Copics!

The ground is coloured with G94 and G99 by making tiny ticks in alternate directions. I've then gone over this with G40 to create a little more tonal texture in some areas. The tree trunk is coloured with E57, 55 and 53 with some C3 for the darker shadow areas. The leave are also G94 and 99 and the flowers are RV 10 and R85. The birds are B 21, 23 and 26, the beak is Y35.

the sky is done by adding little dots of B00, B000 and B60. I've done this with tight dots close to the tree and smaller more sporadic dots as I got closer to the edges. I've then gone over this with the colourless blender 0 to help spread the colour. I did the sky before I did the little flowers coming out of the ground.

I hope you like what did with this card. I had a great time experiementing when I made it!

And don't forget, if you are looking for Magnolia stamps, head over to Tickled Pink Stamps!

Enjoy your day!

The Pink Ladies had so much fun when we were given these little ladies to play with. I know, I know, I keep saying it, but it is so true! We only each had to make a card with two or three of the stamps, but I think most of us ended up making cards with all 5 of the images - and in record time! Baby Tilda

I'm back again with my fourth card today! And yes, another Magnolia image. This one is an older image, of Baby Tilda. Isn't she a cutie?

The photo isnt the best as I just took the photo and it is 9pm here so it is a bit washed out.
**Edited to add that I've updated the photo with one taken in the daylight**

Now, normally I am a Copic girl - through and through. But tonight I wanted to try my hand at water colouring. This image was coloured with Stampin Up inks and an aqua painter. I used four differnt ink colours (Basic black, Creamy Caramel, Pretty in Pink and Soft Sky). It is certainly a lot quicker to water colour than to blend with Copics, and the effect is much softer. So now that I have given it a go (and managed to stay within the lines!!!) I might do a little bit of water colouring here and there, depending on the image.

The papers are Magnolia and are available at Tickled Pink Stamps.

I am entering this little sweetie in the following challenges:
Stampavie and More - Distressing
By the Cute and the Girly - Celebrations
Paperplay Challenges - Pretty Pastels

Another Midsummer Tilda for Just Magnolia

Wow - third post for today, I'm on a roll! I have used Midsummer Tilda again and she is dancing in front of her garden, Old Oak and Shabby Fence. I have used the sketch from Just Magnolia by Bev Rochester. I always make my card, think it looks finished, take a photo and then go, oh, could have added this or that. Now I am looking at this photo of my card I am thinking exactly that. Oh well.

The tree took quite a bit of colouring, but I was happy with it when I finished.

I have used Copic colours:
E11, 00, 000, 31, 34, 50, 51, 53, 55, 57
C 1, 3, 5,
R 20, 81, 83, 85
G 12, 14, 16
BG 72, 75

Magnolia-licious May challenge

Well, I am back with another card for the day. This is for Magnolia-licious' May challenge, which is a sketch:

I have used the gorgeous new Sherwood Edwin stamp and sentiment, again from the Fairytale collection new from Magnolia (if you want him, go and visit Tickled Pink Stamps to pre-order) and I have also used the background stamp from the Lazy Summer Days 2009 collection. The cloud paper is also from Magnolia, available at Tickled Pink Stamps in the Lazy Summer Days paper pack.

I have made some faux wood for the little diagonal strips by following a tutorial by the gorgeous Debbie P which you can see here and here, except I used Kraft cardstock and sahara sand ink instead of the more mustard which gives the wood a more aged look.

I have coloured Edwin and the background in Copics:

B000, 21, 23
BG 92, 95
G12, 14, 16, 40,
E11, 00, 000, 31, 34, 55, 57

Magnolia Down Under Challenges #44

Today I have my DT card to show you which I made for Magnolia Down Under Challenges #44 - a sketch challenge.

Our wonderful leader, Kellie created this sketch for us to play with this week:

I haven't really been playing with sketches much lately so I actually had a bit of trouble with it, even though it is a great sketch! I started a card... went YUCK, pulled it apart and put it away for another day and started again, this time using the elements of the sketch as parts of the card - so instead of building up layers, I punched edges and cut holes!

I have used the sweet little Midsummer Tilda from the new Fairytale collection from Magnolia (available for pre-order at Tickled Pink Stamps - click HERE). This has to be my favourite of the new collection, I coloured her up again last night for another card. She is getting a lot of ink this little lady.

The papers are Flights of Fancy by Prima .

I have used Copic colours:

E21, 00, 000, 50, 51, 53
R 20, 81, 83, 85
BG 10, 13
G40, G12
