FIVE challenges in one!

Oh boy! FIVE challenges in one card!

I was really pleased with how this little card came together. For once, what I had in mind worked as planned. It is one of my favourite colour combinations, so when the challenge was set by Paperplay this week to use pink/white/green, I had to play along.

Just Magnolia have set their challenge as Hearts & flowers and Cute Card Thursday have a challenge Blooming Gorgeous. I am also entering The Pink Elephant's challenge of Pink, Polka dots and a bow for a second time.

As for the other challenge - It is the sketche from Friday Sketchers down the end of my post.

Colour create mojo!

Ohhhh, Happy Saturday everyone!

I made this card last night whilst my good friend Sharon was visiting for a crafting evening. She has recently joined the blogging world so please go and visit her.....HERE

Anyway... I made this card for two challenges.... Mojo Monday # 123 - the sketch, I have obviously gone square! And also for Colour Create challenge # 37 - Soft pink, soft blue, white & silver.

Do you like Tilda's couch? It is a digi stamp that I purchased from Bizzy Becs and printed out on patterned paper. It is the perfect size for Magnolia stamps, don't you think?

Kellie has CC Designs Sugarplum Spring Kit CANDY!!!!

Yep - thats right! Kellie is feeling generous again! She has the new Sugarplums Spring Kit by CC Designs up for grabs!! So off you go - POP on over there now and enter! Its easy. Or maybe I shouldn't be telling you all to go for a look-see... hmm.... more names on the list, less chance for me to win.... hmm... oh well! Spread the happiness.

And aren't those cards that Kellie has made using the kit just gorgeous?! I love her style.

Another "No-stamp" card

Well, I've been thinking and thinking about doing this little dragonfly for a while now and today he came to fruition! It is fairly self explanitory what I did here - cut up a Heidi Swapp flower and added some buttons and viola! Easy peasy.

The white circle is embossed with the Cuttlebug. So for someone who had no idea what to do for the challege at Bizzy Bec's Creatalicious Challenges this month, I've managed to come up with two cards! Not bad.

Cute Card Thursday & Create 4 Fun

Well, a digital image for my card today! Cute Card Thursday has set the challenge this week to be Fairy Fantastic.... and believe it or not I don't actually have a fairy stamp! Yes, yes, I have Tilda's coming out my ears, but none of them were just right, you know? So I found this little cutie on Shabby Chic Papirskatter.

I made the butterflies out of vellum with my Cuttlebug using Spellbinders Shapeabilities Nested Butterflies and the Cuttlebug Dots embossing folder, then just layered them. Something different. Oh, and of course, there are some pearls and crystal flower beads on the bow, just for fun.

And it just so happens to coincide with The Pink Elephant's challenge this week - Polka dots, a bow and Pink!

The sketch is from Create 4 Fun's current challenge .

A Mother's love

I hope everyone had a good weekend! Normally by Sunday night I am becoming a little sad as it means that tomorrow morning my husband has to go to work - but not tonight! He has tomorrow and Tuesday off work (Tuesday is a public holiday so he is making the most of it). SO here we are enjoying our newly set up study/craft room together, he on the computer (well, mostly excpet when I take over to post) and me at my neat desk. Perfect.

So here is one of the creations I came up with tonight. The image is from Whiff of Joy. It is so sweet. It would be great for Mothers' Day. The layout is the sketch from Lily of the Valley challenge # 45. The colour scheme is a new one for me - and I love it! So fresh.

On ya bike!

Oh my goodness - I am LOVING my new craft area. I feel sooo organised. I can get to all of my fun tools and embellishments almost within leaving my chair. It is fantastic.

I even managed to get two cards made while the boys had their afternoon naps.

Here is the first!

The image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and it reminds me of my little Jarred. He is always on the go go go! Such a curious little mind.

Anyway.... the card is made for these challenges -

A Spoon Full of Sugar #87 - Lots of layering, and
Stampavie & More - Boys birthday

I was really happy with how this card turned out. The new craft room is a success!

I think I'll hang on to you

Good morning! Well, it is Sunday here and very early for me to be doing a post, but the rest of the family is still sleeping!

I made this card last night for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge # 30 - Valentines. My hubby isn't really the romantic kind, but he does have a fabo sense of humour, so I decided to use the little monkey stamp (again) for my card. Previously I had just assumed this monkey was a boy, but when I was colouring last night I decided that it was actually a little girl monkey - so I've named her Millie. I just loved the sentiment.

The challenge at Basic Grey this week is for Animals and I had been wanting to enter a challenge over there for some time but I find it hard to buy Basic Grey papers locally. Not sure what is going on there! Anyway, I did manage to find these two designer papers last week with this card in mind and I just loved them! They are from the Basic Grey range "Sugared" and are "Delightful" (the background) and "Beloved" the DP piece on the heart (gorgeous little giraffes and flamingos).

The card didn't really turn out as I had pictured it in my mind, but I am happy with it nonetheless. In the photo it is a bit hard to see but there are little gold hear charms on the beads under the gorgeous green flower.

A little close up of Millie

I decided to use this sketch from Just Magnolia, only tweaking it with a heart instead of the rectangle.

While I was making this little number last night, a bunch of new challenges were released which it fits with perfectly:

Allsorts - Hearts & Flowers - I think I have that covered!
One Stop - Love & Kisses - I hope my little animal on my DP count!
Stamp Something - Funny Somethings

Oops - kids are awake! I'll be back later to let you all know the origins of my ingredients!

I'm back! With a quickie...

Oh where oh where have I been?

Well, it does feel like I've been away for AGES, but it has only been the better part of the week. My hubby is in the process of musical rooms .... you see, our bubba was in the study, next to our room while he was little, now that he sleeps through he has been moved down to his permanent bedroom next to our eldest. So that means that we get our study set up properly - with cupboards and everything! I can't wait. All of my craft goodies are packed up in boxes while all of this is happening. I can't stand it! I have been twitchng all week long.

Today it got the better of me and I HAD to do something... so I finally found some goodies and decorated a little gift box.

Here is the before picture:

And here are the after photos:

Ahhhhh..... a big sigh of crafters withdrawal relief. The study/craft room should be all finished tomorrow so I can unpack, reorganise and get STAMPING! Twitch. Twitch.

Creatalicious excitement!

I am soooo excited! Bizzy Bec has invited me to be a part of her Creatalicious Challenges Design Team! I received the email from Bec yesterday and the excitement has still not worn off.

The prize for the top three entries of the December challenge at Creatalicious Challenges was to be a part of the Design Team for six months. I had checked the challenge blog on Friday and saw that I was not one of the top three, but yesterday I received the email from Bec to let me know that I was one of the runners up and one of the top three had declined the invitation, so was I interested? You bet I was!

What an honour! I now just have to try and live up to the fantastic talent of the other ladies on the Design Team, current and outgoing. Eek!

So... on to the current Creatalicious challenge - No stamped or digi images, only stamped sentiments if you like.......whoooa - where to start?

OK need some inspiration, fast... ummmm. ummmmm. ummmm. Ok, calm down, have a coffee and sit down.... go through stash..... sit with the kids in front of the TV... BING! Light bulb moment. For a while now I have been wanting to do a scrapbook page inspired by a cartoon the kids watch "Zoo Mix". So out came the Cricut and I got cutting. I had originally planned on putting an animal on the card, but when I got out my buttons and found all of the apples, the plan changed and I did the apples and kite instead. So something very very different today!

It is really not my usual style and it actually looks better in the flesh than the photo.

I hope you like it!

Sweet Cute Card Thursday and more!

Yea! Its the weekend! I started this card Thursday night, then did a bit last night and only just finished it now. I feel like its been a bit of a marathon, but it was worth it, so pretty and pink. I really wanted to get it done for one of the challenges that is finishing today... eeek! Hurry - type! type!

The layout was based on the sketch from the Sweet Stop challenge SSS38 - which is right down the bottom of my post.

The colour scheme is pink and grey - just what Cute Card Thurday is asking for this week and ...

It is an Easel card - I love this format. Stampavie and More are looking for Easel cards for challenge # 77, and yes, I know it isn't a Stampavie image - but that is why they are called Stampavie and More!

And I have distressed all of the layers - so over we go to the Creative Card Crew for their challenge # 42 - distressing

Shabby Chic Sarah Kay

Happy Thursday everyone! Simon Says Stamp Challenges has a fantastic challenge this week - SHABBY CHIC!!! I love Shabby Chic. Can you tell? Although my house is anything but... my husband prefers modern asian resort style (is that even a style?), but I have managed to get a few quilts over the couches here and there!

Anyhoo.... on to my card (I tend to go off the subject a bit don't I?) - this is what I came up with. I just love the Sarah Kay stamps from Stampavie. They remind me of birthday cards I used to get as a child when the images were used by John Sands.

The crochet flower is made by yours truly. And the little coffee coloured roses are from Bizzy Becs range and I am in love with them - I had coffee coloured roses in my wedding bouquet.

The layout is from Card Patterns challenge sketch #46 and I used the recipe from A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge #86 A recipe - 3 pieces designer paper, 1 piece ribbon, 3 flowers and 3 buttons. And because I used stitching on the card, I can also enter her in the Just us Girls challenge "Stitching"

Friday Sketchers meets Colour Create

Hi again!

Here is my next card... it is the gorgeous Tilda with Roses. The colour combo is Lemon & Lime. challenge #35 at Colour Create. I was a bit nervous how this would turn out, but I think I am happy now it is finished. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers challenge # 84, by the talented Claudia Rosa (my hero). All of the edges are distressed and inked. Its a bit hard to tell from the photo but there are three layers before the main layer of design paper. Loads of distressing!

Edwin on holidays in Australia

Oh boy it is HOT here today! It is forecast to be 39 oC (which is 102 oF for everyone over in the USA) and I think we have reached that! It is also very windy so ideal weather for bushfires... fingers crossed everyone obeys the total fire ban.

This card was fun to make! It is a frame card for the January challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlites. There is great little tutorial by Claudia Rosa which you can find HERE.

For my frame card I used three Magnolia stamps for this project:

Edwin with Bike (Lazy Summer Days collection)
Waterfall background (Tilda and Edwins Pet collection), and
Tip Leaves (Tilda and Edwins Pet collection)

The layers are a bit clearer here:

Being a card for a boy, it was hard to choose embelishements. Normally I would go all out with flowers, etc, but I had to really retrain myself and just add the little wooden butterfly button and some metal charms. Over at Paperplay Challenges this week they are asking for "Precious Metal" so I thnk this qualifies!

My husband's Oma (grandma) arrived in Australia from The Netherlands last night and is currently resting at my In-laws house just around the corner so we are very anxious to see her and catch up. It is the first time she has visited us since our boys were born so it is going to be a very exciting reunion! It is because of her visit that I was inspired to add the little kangaroo on the inside of my card. I've had this little Cuttlekids die for a little while and I just hadn't had an opportunity to use it, so instead of little Edwin going on a cycling tour in Africa (where I think this waterfall background is supposed to represent) I decided he was on holidays here in Australia. And because he is on hols here in Australia, I thought it might be nice to take the photos of the card outside in my backyard. We live in an acre block which backs onto a mountain reserve so we get all kinds of native wildlife at the back fence (kangaroos, echidnas, lizards, beautiful birds), and sometimes actually in the yard!

One of our visitors

And another that I was not venturing outside to photograph!

Sorry! That was a really long post!

Color Throwdown and Stamp Something for August

Happy Saturday everyone!

Here is my August page. Do you like my little crocheted flower? It is my first attempt and it was actually really quick to make.

The colour inspiration for this one is from Color Throwdown #74 only I have improvised with the colours and swapped Regal Rose for Pretty in Pink and Dusty Durango for Real Rust (all Stampin Up colours I believe).

And for the layout I have used the sketch from Stamp Something challenge Sketch something

...July...

Are you sick of my calendar yet? I am! Just kidding. I will be glad when it is finished though so I cando some other projects. Just think - I had planned on making one of these for my mum and mum-in-law for Christmas pressies but ran out of time - I think I would have been completely frazzled had I attempted to make three of these babies!

ABC Challenges has set the challenge as L for Layering and there are plenty of layers here!

For the layout I used the sketch from Delightful Sketches #14, below

I tried to use the colours for the challenge at Color Q challenge #14 but of course had to improvise with some.

....May and June....

Busy busy! This calendar is going to take forever to finish! I need new and fresh ideas for each page and I am running out of inspiration - thank goodness there are new challenges each day for me to get ideas from.

The calendar image is stamped using the "Calendar" stamp by Stampin Up!

My May page is based on the sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp challenge # 18. I just love the colour combo. It is one that I haven't tried before.

My June page is based on the colour combo challenge from The Little Paper Shop Challenge LPSC49 - pink, black and white
