My last Christmas card (um-mah!)

So Christmas has come and gone and I am still making a Christmas card? Yup! I figure it is still December so I am ok.... yeah?

I left my friend's Christmas card til last as it has to be the best and something different, so there is a bit of pressure there and with the lead up to Christmas this year, it all got to much so here I was this afternoon franticly trimming and stamping and glittering away. Funny thing is though - she does the same with her card for my family.

The front of this card is based on the sketch from Mojo Monday #119. I was really unsure what to do with the circle at the front as I had planned for my pretty image to be inside, but I think this turned out OK.

I was happy with my flowers! Nothing like a bit of holly to make things festive. The challenge at Little Red Wagon is to use flowers.

For the inside of this card, I had planned a little "wow factor" with my Tilda. She is actually not a Cristmas Tilda but is "Tilda with Hearts" from the "Love Collection". The current challenge from Magnolia Down Under is to use a stamp which was intended for another use. So I thought she worked quite well. I had meaning to get to this challenge since it was posted and just hadn't got there yet, so it is a big relief to finally participate!

At ABC Challenges the current challenge is K for Kissing and little Tilda is all puckered up!

To actually be able to have a space to write on the card I had to use my Magnolia Recipe card for a little tag on the back! So much cutting and pasting! So much fun.

Oh Baby!

My cousin and his wife had their second child yesterday, a little girl named Audrey, a little sister for Sophia.

So an excuse to make a card as girly and pink as possible! There is absolutely no stamping on this card, just some Cricut work, Cuttlebug emobossing, punches and sponging. It was surprisingly quick to make - but rather difficult to photograph. I think that was due to the amount of white used and a white background? As soon as I tried a dark background, I was happier with the pics.

Little Peter Rabbit had a ......

I am still at my craft desk trying to get the last minute things done... ! I bet I am not the only one though!

I have made these frames for my mother in law as part of my Secret Santa gift to her. The photos are my little boys, and were taken this week. Little Jarred (or Jad-jad as he calls himself) has a big bruise on his cheek and the start of a black eye.. a little reminder to him to "SIT ON YOUR BOTTOM"! as Mummy keeps reminding him. And yes, my bubby Aiden is really that fair! He has the most beautiful pale skin and white hair. Both of my little boys also have those baby blue eyes that you can just look into forever. I'm so lucky to have such gorgeous kids. Anyway, I'm rambling!

The little Peter Rabbits on each frame are stamped and coloured by me. I found a set of Beatrix Potter clear stamps at my local Spotlight store for only $5 and they had to come home with me! They were perfect for these frames - which I found at the $2 shop - for $4 each (go figure?!). The rest of the goodies are from my ever growing stash.

Jad-jad's frame:

Aiden's frame:

A close up of little Peter

And a sweet little charm for Oma

These little darlings are also for some challenges! Ha ha!

Allsorts Challenge week 32 has Anything but a card

Easy Craft Projects challenge #2 is either a Christmas bag, Stocking, Calendar, Recycled jar or Picture Frame - I've obviously chosen the picture frame!

One Stop Craft Projects - challenge # 60 - Recycled (value added frames!)

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a lovely day with family tomorrow and eat lots of yummy things.

Gingerbread house

So here is what I spent yesterday afternoon doing... our gingerbread house! I've made one before to give to my in-laws (the year my father-in-law built our house, thought it was a cute idea) and since then my husband has been begging for me to make another one for him. He is the biggest sweet tooth I know... although my little Jarred is looking as though he is going to rival daddy...

I make the gingerbread from scratch, rather than buy one of those pre-baked kits. I love the smell in the kitchen as it bakes. So Christmassy! I think next time though, I need to be a little more adventurous with the lollies... maybe some jelly beans and freckles. My little house pales in comparison to some of the enormous ones I've seen on google images - some people build all out mansions! And though small, it still took a good three hours to make! It is filled with marshmellows on special request from my husband. As if it wasnt sweet enough!

So here it is - in all its sugary glory. Diabetics beware!

Something a little different today!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve to everyone!

I've done something a little different today - this little fella is a vintage digital image, isnt he cute? He is from Shabby Chic Papirskatter - a free craft image download blog. I was quite intrigued.

This card is for two challenges...

Yea! I think I have my creativity back! Wooo-hooo! I managed to get this little card done in under two hours!

Allsorts of Mojo

WOW! Where have I been all week? Last week I couldn't escape my craft desk (I love those weeks, shame about the housework though) and this week I've had trouble getting a moment to get in here and finish anything - this card in particular I started Monday, can you believe it?! So frustrating! But anyway, I've finished it and I am fairly happy. Part of my problem is lack of mojo for the Monday Mojo sketch #117 this week. It looks simple enough but do you think I could find anything that looked any good? Nup. I bet in a week or so I will go back and look at the sketch and BANG, ha ha ha. Maybe I am all Christmassed out? I certainly hope not because I STILL have a few cards to make... and then there is a gift or two in progress that needs finishing and then the gift tags and wrapping..... oh boy.

Despite all that, I've discovered a challenge blog called Allsorts Challenges. Its really cute, go over and have a look. Their current challege (#31) is Pearls and Swirls, so I stamped this gorgeous swirl all over my patterned paper and embossed it with gold powder. It has been a while since I did any embossing and it was nice to get the blingy stuff out. I added a few red pearls on the lacey bits and a few pearl (?) coloured pearls on the top right. There we go - pearls and swirls "all sorted", yep, pun intended, (chuckles to self). Sorry, I've been spending too much time with my babies and not enough with adults.....

Two cup day...

I have had these little Magnolia stamps (Tea Cup and Kitchen) for a little while now and had been itching to use them. I knew they needed a "shabby chic" look but what to do? Hmmm....then sketch #82 at Friday Sketchers appeared! Excellent! Some inspiration.

And this is what I came up with...

In case you can't quite read the sentiment, it says "Some mornings you just know... its going to be a two cup day!" Oh yeah! Love it.

Cute Card Thursday also have their challenge #90 "Sew Beady", so I will enter in that challenge as well as I have a couple of little heart beads here for some glammour.

Stampin' for the Weekend have their challenge set at Blue & Brown, so why not enter over there as well!

A little close up so you can see the heart beads here on the left and the gorgeous little flowers

Kai in the Snow

How lovely is this image? The chubbly cheeks and tooth grin remind me of my little boys. He is called "Kai in the Snow" by Mo's Digital Pencil. I seem to be using a lot of digital images lately. I love that you can resize them to fit the card layout.

The pale blue snowflakes paper is a digi download from Bizzy Becs.

The snowflakes are all Kindyglitzed, as is the snow on the ground at baby Kai's feet.

So... this card is to be entered in the following challenges:

Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges #4 - Create something Christmassy, include snowflakes, lots of sparkle and glitter;

Easy Craft Projects first challenge! The colour Turqioise

Mojo Monday #116 - this sketch:

and...

Sketch Saturday - Big Catch

Oh boy - I had crafters block today so I went in search of a sketch challenge to get the creativity flowing. I had this new digi kit from Bizzy Becs which I was itching to use and for the life of me I couldn't figure out where the little guy should sit on the page... then I found Sketch Saturday and this :

Problem solved!! How cute is little Joe? And isn't the paper fantastic?

A close up... I found this little fishy charm in my stash that I'd been saving for ages (and had forgotten about!)

And inside

Merry Christmas from the Elves

So ... my husband is a bit of a prankster and made a digital Christmas card featuring our family from a very clever site...

Click ...here... for a little giggle.

Stocking gift card holder

Oh - look what I made! It is a little gift card holder. I thought it was such a cute idea - which I found at Waltzing Mouse - and the link to the template is HERE.

Once again the gorgeous patterned paper is from Bizzy Becs. I love love love these papers.

My little stocking gift card holder is for the following challenges:

Santa is coming to town....

I'm back - and hopefully soon Santa will be too!

I am rather pleased with this effort - I've coloured Santa in inks using my aqua painter on watercolour paper. I love the colours. So elegant yet rustic. The patterned papers are digi downloads I purchased from Bizzy Becs new range - and I LOVE them. I've Kindyglitzed just about everything I could and added some jewels here and there and a touch of gold gel pen.

This card took a while to make - I started yesterday while my boys were napping and I was back at it this afternoon while they were sleeping again. Thankfully they are very tired and are still asleep! I'm just posting this card and I will have to go and get them up or they will be awake all night.

I am entering it in the following challenges:

Friday sketchers - sketch challenge #81
Just Magnolia - Make a card for someone special (this is for my parents)
Magnolia Down Under challenge #28 - Bedazzled
The Pink Elephant challenge # 43 - Colour Me Wonderful
Stamp Something - Glitzy
Cupcake Craft Challenges - Challenge #69

Phew!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge #28 - Bedazzled

Hi there and happy Sunday to everyone!

Here is a little Tilda sitting waiting to open her Christmas pressie. She is my favourite little Christmas Tilda so far. She is just so cute.

She is for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge #28 - Bedazzled.

The papers are all Stampin Up. The red pinstripe and dots are from a discontinued Designer Series paper called "Ginger Blossom" and just happen to be lovely and red. As I didn't have any matching Christmassy papers, I stamped the kraft piece with "chocolate chip" coloured snowflakes, I know, sounds strange, but looks cute! The sentiment is a digi stamp from Bizzy Becs - this is a freebie! Gotta love that - thanks Bec!

So all of the glitter is done with Kindyglitz and the jewels are a mix of Kaisercraft and Prima. There is a little bit of gold gel pen as well. The lace and ribbon are both from the fantastic candy I won thanks to Kellie - go and visit her store.

Anyway, I'm off to make some more Christmas cards! I never seem to have enough.

03 December 2009

Little Dude!

How AWESOME is this little Dude? He is a digi stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil - and I love him!

I made this card for two challenges - Mojo Monday #115 and if I am not too late (fingers crossed the time differences in Australia get me through...) Cute Card Thursday Challenge # 88 - Snips Snails & Puppy Dog Tails.

The card is for a little boy who is turning 5 - so there are 5 stars in the corner.

Christmas Stockings

Hello! Something different today - I have been at my sewing machine! Yay! Or so I thought until I began sewing. I am way out of practice. Maybe it was just not my day to sew? Who knows. Anyway, I made this first Christmas stocking last year for my "big" boy, Jarred, he is 18 months old. It is just a panel I bought at Spotlight, cut out, quilted and assembled. It is quilted by hand and let me tell you - it took me ages to finish it. It is pretty big, about 70cm long. We have some cute photos from Christmas Day last year with him in the stocking.

So when it came time to make another one for my "little" boy, Aiden (4.5 months), my mum bought me a "walking foot" for my sewing machine - they are supposed to make machine quilting fun. HA! I gave up very quickly. I am guessing that the walking foot is for straight quilting - not going around seriously tight bends. I lost my patience. I ended up and assembling the stocking without quilting it! It really didn't help that my sewing machine was playing up and chewing thread. And of course, the phone kept ringing! Anyway, it is done. One day I will get them both out and embellish them with bells, beads, buttons and ribbons etc to make them really something special, until then, my boys are still too little to even know what they are. They are really only for Mummy :)

The Pink Elephant challenge #41

And another Christmas card! Of course - I love this time of year. The Pink Elephant Challenges this week had something a little different! A circle card. Its a good thing I invested in some Nestabilities dies a little while ago!

And here is my entry with a Magnolia Santa waiting for Dec 25!
